AIMS & TARGET GROUPS
Sustainable entrepreneurship is a cornerstone of sustainable urban transformation that may ultimately contribute to larger scale societal systemic changes. In the context of sustainability transitions, the potential transformative role of small and medium-sized enterprises are often overlooked, albeit being potentially significant group of actors bringing about community-level innovation for sustainability solutions. This science workshop is organized to examine the crucial role of so called Innovative Urban Businesses (IUB) based on select case studies from Cambodia.
More specifically, it will discuss the roles, opportunities and challenges of IUB and related aspects of multi-level governance required to support them, especially in the highly dynamic economic context of Cambodia.
Hosting organisations are the Royal University of Phnom Penh and Hamburg University as joint research partners of the Build4People Work Package “Sustainable Urban Transformation”.
Thereby, the Science Workshop is expected to gather multi-stakeholders from academic, policy and practical backgrounds of both Cambodia and Germany, within and beyond the scope of the German government funded Build4People Project.
