Okay, this is a game changer! I love the cable cast-on, but didn’t know how to avoid that curved end. Thank you!!!

This is great. I have seen it before and then forgot about it as I use the longtail CO most of the time. I realize now, it is necessary to practice it a few times. Best, may be to use the cable CO in a project. 💜💜💜

The CCO is my favorite cast on and this makes it perfect. I'd use it nearly everywhere, but there doesn't seem to be a "matching" bind off. Any ideas, Ms. Patty Lyons?

I got the book and love it but appreciate the videos. Helps it make more sense to me.

Awesome technique, thank you! I struggled to understand how to do it just reading your book, because you don't say to drop the loop lifted up over the YO before transferring. Maybe it's obvious, I'm a beginner 😅

What needles are you using? I notice the notch that appears to make the needle hold the stitches on better! I am using the Chiaogoo twist but am interested in the ones you are using as I find them to be very slippery.

Than you Patty! I have a question not related to this video . I love helix knitting and would like to knit a sweater using helix knitting, Is there a way to do short rows while knitting helix ?thanks!

So slick! What about joining cable cast on in the round, is there anything special to do to avoid a divot that differs in any way from how to avoid a divot in LTCO?

Hello, I love the trick for the cable cast on, this is a silly question, my pattern calls for 8 rows of knitting after cast on. i'm using a German cast on for this project. Or does it not matter since it is a blanket ? The first row will leave a knit st. showing. Should I purl the next row to back before I start the 8 rows of knitting. Bind off on the RS. purl wise, seems to blend better ?

Greetings,
Do you feel it is better to use the YO or K2 on the end of a cable cast on row when adding a button band to the edge? (since you lose a bar with the YO)
Thank you for all of your videos.

Could this cast on be used instead of the Chinese Waitress?

Fellow jackal here 🐾 Saw that there is a knitting leaflets project on a citizen science site Zooniverse. Thought you might be interested. Lots of old leaflets showing different styles.
