The rule says that a player in motion (i.e. dribbling the ball) can "gather the ball" and then take two steps. So if the player puts a foot on the floor (steps) while the ball is on the way up from the floor, he still gets two more steps after he catches the ball on its way up. It's going to look like an extra step to a lot of people who don't understand what the rule actually says.

Clearly NOT a travel. Ginobili is still dribbling the ball. The steps count only AFTER you pick up your dribble, not the last time the ball touches the floor. He doesn't pick up the dribble (touches it with both hands) until right before the step back.

I love how they put All I Do is Win after he made that shot

@Proteinz the last dribble he makes comes a split second before his first right foot plant (1 step), then he taps his left foot (2 steps), then he plants both feet (4 total steps). If he didn't tap is left foot you would be right. Refs didn't make the call cuz it was a home game... simple as that

the guys touched manu thats why he traveled. it could have easily been called a defensive foul on the other guy

@Proteinz people do understand, because he clearly gathers the ball, steps with his left, then the extra 2 steps. Thats 3

@happywhale4 watch again. he gathers on the step back not the other steps.

No travel at all. Step back. Though shot.

Who sez he has Duncan and Parker, and just a sixth man? Fans who do not follow manu's really don't what he's worth with the spurs is.

@eadude5 That's true, he travel. Spurs don't even wanna take away one game from them.

I agree... That was clearly a travel. He took a step with his left foot before the actual hop step... They should've reviewed it.

What’s the name of the song playing after he scores?

not sure if it's a travel. is that a reverse jump stop??? a jump stop you are allowed to hop after one step and land on both feet, but you may not pivot or anything and pretty much have to shoot it. I never saw anyone do that move before though where they jump stop in reverse.

Wow, a lot of dipsticks posting who don't know or haven't played the game at all. Ginobilli didn't even pick up his dribble until right before the jump step, which is completely legal. He just went away from the basket instead of towards it.

It was a great play by a great player and clearly NOT a travel.

@Proteinz while this rule may be true, he took 4 steps after he gathered did u actually watch the video. he takes 2 steps like he is gonna raise up for the shot, then stumbles backwords, doesnt land his feet at the same time, his right foot comes down then his left, which makes a total of 4! steps. huge travel
