There's a rhyme for the magpies: 1 for sorrow, 2 for joy, 3 for a girl, 4 for a boy, 5 for silver, 6 for gold and 7 for a tale/secret that's never been told ☺ if you see one just wave at it/salute it. Others. ... scratch your ear someone's talking about you, scratch you nose has something to do with a fight (?), oh shudder down your back is someone walking on your grave .... ok better stop now as I've kissed the Blarney stone too 😉💗

The magpies rhyme:
1 for sorrow
2 for joy
3 for a girl
4 for a boy
5 for silver
6 for gold
7 for a story yet to be told

Just nod at the magpie and say "good morning mister magpie" to get rid of it

Irish Superstition about Banshee - I don’t exactly remember it. Something if a bird come in to your house then somebody might die...Anyone knows this one?

Why didn't you talk about the fairy mounds? I mean they literally make roads to curve around them and that's very specific to Ireland so I'm surprised that you did not mention that

Just popped in to say black cats are seen as lucky here, especially when they cross in front of you, or at least that's what I was taught.

In Brazil it's bad luck to go out in the street alone after dark. You might get shot.

From Central Pennsylvania for when you drop silverware (cutlery): dropping a spoon means a woman is coming to visit, dropping a fork means a man is coming to visit and dropping a knife means that you will fight (argue) with someone. I think this is from the Pennsylvania Dutch (PA German).

There is another superstition here in Ireland that if you spill salt you should throw a little over your left shoulder for good luck. It's actually a European superstition. It stems from a time when salt was a very expensive commodity and spilling it was deemed bad luck. Throwing it over your shoulder reversed the bad luck. A lot of superstitions have an element (small!) of truth in them but they have been exaggerated over the years.

Magpies, one for sorrow, 2 for joy, just wave at all of them and you're grand. Never heard of not holding an unbaptised child. What about the banshee?

It is a well known fact that the local kids urinate on the Blarney stone regularly.

That of itching palm, Romanians have it too, but slightly diferent: in Romania they say that if your LEFT PALM is itchy you get money, but if the RIGHT PALM is itching you have to give money to someone and you have to hold fist in order to keep it
