How to EASILY Create a Bible Study (Avoid THIS Mistake)

There is a command that many Christians refuse to obey! It’s something that every one of us should be doing, something that God EXPLICITLY tells us to do, but many of us simply don’t want to do it! We’re scared to do it!
And unfortunately, there are BIG consequences!

And the thing we are refusing to do is THIS. Many of us REFUSE to teach the Bible to others!

In the shema, God says…"And these words that I command you today shall be on your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children." (Deuteronomy 6:6-7)

Jesus tells us in the Great Commission, “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you” (Matthew 28:19-20)

This is something we all MUST be doing…but often, fear, insecurity, and other things hold us back!

My goodness this was an overall “Yes Lord, you have my attention” Just before this “popped up” I had a total ‘random thought’ go through my mind of some sort of Bible study.
My hold back was “what if I don’t have an answer” thank you for covering the whole Bible study outline, or at least giving me/us a guide.

I have learned not to read the Bible to understand it, but to get familiar with it. Something then will happen in your life that makes you able to relate to it... then it becomes alive and more understandable. But don't stop there, it does get deeper sometimes

What you described about beginning is precisely my own first experience; there was one individual in the class who just nailed me every time he opened his mouth. What soon happened, under God's guidance, is what you suggested. This process began by first giving thought about those things I did not understand myself, forming my own questions and address those to the group. That provided opportunities to share, look in Scripture, study together and learn from one another and the Bible.

Thanks for reminding us of those 3 steps of observation, interpretation and.application. I'm a writer with a degree in English who has kept journals since 1983. Many church people need encouragement to work hard to acquire skills which take a lot of time and discipline! Because we listen to others preach, we can become passive. I love to see people start to take notes at church. Reviewing notes lets us retain what can be so quickly forgotten!

The kids were well aware of my faith but admittedly, I typically respect other adult's freedom of choice by charging them with the wherewithal to have heard anything I've got to say on the subject several times. Unless they're curious of course. Then I'll open the floodgates.
