HIT LONGER DRIVES BY USING THE CORRECT TEE HEIGHT FOR YOU!

Hit longer drives by using the correct tee height for you! How how to tee the golf ball? Everyone wants to hit longer drives off the tee, leading to shorter clubs into the green, lower scores and basically bragging rights from your friends. But I see so many golfers who tee the ball at the wrong height and its costs them not only distance but also accuracy. To make sure we hit the three main points to good long straight drives, its mega important we use the correct tee height. Lets do it, and lets do it now!

I changed from pink to orange this summer and as a single figure handicap golfer for over 25 years I'm smashing the orange tee's around 30 yards further. 🙃 absolutely amazing 👏 😍 ❤ 🙌

I used the white tees for years because I felt more in control. Getting older and looking for lost distance I tried hitting up with the pink ones but felt out of control ! Knowing I had to persevere I gave the orange ones a go but hit some great shots along with some horrors lol anyway getting to my point after a few rounds with the orange ones I went back to the pink ones and all the fear dropped away. Pinks are perfect now and I’m gaining distance gradually!

Tried this on Sunday. 18HC, driver my nemesis for 30 years lol, but I live with it. Anyway after using pink tee for last 5 years I bought a pack of orange ones for a quid. OMG What a difference it's not gone that much further but it's gone alot straighter. Of to Wales over the weekend playing Conwy, Nyten and Royal st David's and it's going to be orange tee for me. Great vid and great channel. 👍👍👍

Playing off winter mats has forced me into castle tees. My balance is super-bad and I have recently had to stand more upright to stop me going on my toes (this was causing me to go over the top). Since standing more upright however, my trajectory has changed and I now hit the ball much higher (too high). To counter this I have dropped my club to 9.4 (will probably go to 9) and now using the white tees as I was also hitting off the top of the club. I have lost around 20 yards in length but I'm now much straighter and consistent and still hitting 260-270 yard drives. In fact I broke 80 for the first time ever on NYE and I play off 18! Super pleased you did a video on this James, many thanks. A few people were doubting my tee choice because it's not the industry norm.

Hi James great information. Just shows a £1.50 piece of kit can help improve your drive no matter how expensive or full of technology your driver is. Tee Hight and as you have said before the ball you use are all have a real impact on your game.

Used an orange tee yesterday just because I found one in the first tee and had watched your video. Usually had used the shorter white tee. Difference was amazing. Didn’t sky one which was my fear. Didn’t hover the club as I struggle with that. Going to blow £2.50 on s full set of orange tees now. 😃😃

New duffer here, I just recently moved from a Taylormade R7 9.5deg (it was cheap and got me into golf!) to a Mizuno ST180 High Loft. With the R7 I was using a 3 1/4in tee as hig as I could get it, and STILL getting low-ish ball flights. Now with the Mizuno and a revised swing to counteract my slice I have had to lower the tee quite a bit. Now using "standard" 2 1/2in tees and getting straighter, higher ball flights even though I"m tee'd down quite a bit.

As the brilliant Moe Norman said "Tee it way up there".
One of the original golfers who started teeing the ball up high and also having the ball level with his lead foot on the driver, when everyone was still putting it just left of centre.
He even said back then, it puts less spin on the ball, he may have been talking about side spin but either way, it's great to know how much he understood the golf swing.

Just used a 2 3/4” Martini Tee for first time this past weekend and I totally agree with more consistency using a measured Tee.

I find the the Pink Tee works best for my swing, launch/spin/trajectory are optimised. When I try to use the Orange Tee I tend to get a balloon ball that fades excessively.

Pro V1x practice balls. Yes indeed. Our range balls were previously used by Fred Flintstone. I Notice most 460 drivers work best higher on the face so a higher tee is needed.

Fabulous Video don't think many "Golf-Tubers" going around have even remotely touched on this (Tee height), let alone have tested. Very interesting. Excellent & informative mate. Thanks.

I often hit driver without a tee, get a low flight, lots of run and more control as the wind can’t get to it as much, or the sidespin I put on the ball. However, if I could hit the middle of the club with an orange tee, this does show it could go much further. Thanks!

I use standard wooden tee pegs, measure the height by knuckles on my forefinger. So, driver, just out from the first joint (going from knuckles out), so about the same height as a white castle, 3 wood, just below last joint. Irons, either off the deck or just finger tip height. I find if I tee it up too high I ended skying it and losing distance. On the other hand, I also prefer the lower penetrating ball flight than something that comes down with ice on it, even if I lose a few yards, as I find I hit more fairways with it than trying to absolutely max out the distance, which is always an important consideration especially with tighter fairways.

I have my own rubber tees I take to the range, they the large grey version cut to the same size I use on the course, which is just over half the ball above the crown, I think tee height is important and like to keep things as near as I can to playing conditions .Good important video James .
