Chidimma Adetshina has withdrawn from the Miss South Africa pageant. This comes after the Patriotic Alliance instituted urgent legal action against Adetshina and Miss South Africa in order to prevent her from participating. Home Affairs found evidence that Adetshina's mother, who has Mozambican roots, MAY have committed fraud and 'identity theft' in obtaining South African citizenship. The department says it's considering legal action after it concludes investigations. #enca #dstv403

I feel sorry for the girl that lived 23 miserable years of her life not being identified. Unable to access all basic needs 💔😭 … chichi is innocent but she’s not a victim she benfited from her moms alleged criminal actions 😢

This situation has unfolded as expected. Miss South Africa is a symbol of national pride, embodying the spirit and heart of our country. She serves as an inspiration to the youth and represents South Africa on an international stage. It is crucial to understand that this role is not merely about beauty; it is about representing our nation with integrity and awareness of the challenges we face.

The candidate chosen for Miss South Africa must be someone whose heart beats for South Africa, someone who understands and engages with the country's issues, and acts as a diplomat. Finalists often demonstrate their commitment through community initiatives and public service. Unfortunately, in the case of Chidima, there has been no evidence of such patriotism or dedication to South Africa, whether through her content or public initiatives.

Moreover, the matter of identity theft is a grave injustice to the innocent. There is a young South African girl whose identity has been stolen due to the actions of Chidima’s mother. This young person is denied the basic rights of citizenship, including access to education, property, and more. Who will speak for her? This issue goes far beyond beauty; it involves serious legal and ethical concerns.

South Africans have the right to express their opinions and grievances, as freedom of speech is a fundamental right. The Minister has stated that efforts will be made to find the victim of this crime. It is imperative that the rightful winner, one who truly represents the values and spirit of South Africa, takes her place. This is not just about a title; it’s about honoring the sacrifices made for our country's freedom and upholding its values.

So people are not concerned about the woman who suffered from identity theft, just that Chidimma is "so beautiful"😢 what if they were unable to work, provide for her children properly or even get her kids ID's.... such shallowness

Gayton alone is far better than the entire ANC, he alone is exposing the complacency, incompetence, feels so stupid and stubborn to have been in support of the ANC all these years

Now conduct a thorough investigation into the allegations of fraudulent documentation. If the allegations are substantiated, revoke all rights, certifications, and any other privileges obtained in South Africa under the fraudulent documentation. Ra talelwa mo!!!

Looking at the comments, these are the same people who wonder why we can't have nice things in this country.🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️ Jealousy runs wild here, and these are the same people who sweat with prayer in their churches.🙇‍♂️

More investigations needs to be done on this case .an innocent young girl and her mother was robbed of their legal rights and opportunities as South Africans especially the girl . opportunities to enter school perhaps, higher education and perhaps job opportunities.whatever degrees this Nigerian nationalist has achieved in South Africa should become nul en void ..

Wow this gross i mean the comments from my people are such of great cruelty and lack of shame, what went wrong in us, i mean our ancestors were not like this and i believe they would be angry at us if they were to know what we have become. Yes it would be nice to be represented by someone who holds all side roots of this country but i am amazed by the fact that most whites holds foreign roots but non has ever said anything, our national anthem sometimes it sang by citizens with foriegn roots yet representing us with their European voice, why can't we see that something is wrong with us somewhere. A mother must be the one to pay the price but not the child.

Good on them for dealing with identify fraud, but there is something icky about the way this story is reported as if people commit identify fraud without the assistance of Dept of Home Affairs staff and that they aren't useless when victims seek help.

Good she dropped out. she's not to bkame for her mom's crimes but thr trith is that Miss South Africa must posses humility, beauty, grace a integrity. Unfortunately she is lacking in some parts.
