REL Acoustics How To: Connecting a REL Low Level to Active Speakers, TVs or Monoblock Amps

In this video we will be showing how to connect using the Low Level input. In some systems connecting your REL powered subwoofer High Level is not an option. Systems where you cannot connect to speaker output such as active speakers or directly to a TV require connecting Low Level. Connecting Low Level is the only option when connecting a single REL to monoblock amplifiers.

Thanks for producing these helpful videos. I am connecting my active speaker (Ruark Audio MR1 MK2) dedicated Subwoofer RCA output to the REL (T Zero) single Low Level input (as in this video). Presumably the active speaker subwoofer output is already filtering the signal to pass only the low frequencies to the REL (subwoofer)? Do I therefore need to filter it again at the REL by setting the crossover frequency? Maybe I should just set it to 120Hz (max setting) on the REL? What is the REL recommendation for setup for connection to dedicated subwoofer amplifier (or active speaker) connections? The other video's are mainly for setting up High Level speaker connections. I assume that room placement, phase and volume will follow the same kind of setup as for High Level, but any recommendations where they differ for dedicated Subwoofer connections are welcome. I have seen other videos showing dedicated subwoofer connections from amplifiers or AV systems being plugged into the LFE inputs on subwoofers. Could that work on a REL, is the LFE really only a special effects port?

Hi REL，I just got two S510，and I can't wait to put them into my system. But I've got a problem. My active speaker is focal trio 11 be, they don't even have a subwoofer output. All it has is a XLR input, so how can I connect my s510 into my stereo system? say, by using a outer device like a digital player, can it work?

I have the KEF LS50 wireless 2, and just bought the REL HT/1205 subwoofer. How will I connect this? Of course from the Kef connect it to the dedicated subwoofer output. Then to the REL which am I going to connect it? To the LFE with a single coax? Or the the both low level output? Which one is going to be better?

I am using two Audioquest subwoofer cables to connect low level from my REL HT 1205 to a Parasound Hint 6 Integrated Amp, the cables both have ground wires hanging from each end. The REL does not have a place to ground to, but the Hint 6 does. What should I do with the hanging ground wires?

If I have a class D amp (Yamaha WXA-50) and passive speakers (PSB Imagine XB) - how do I connect the passive speakers to the sub? The amplifier has a single RSC subwoofer out, and 2x speaker outs (l/r)

Most setups I have seen you run amp to sub, and sub to speakers to take advantage of the low frequency crossover.

In this setup, would I run the high level input to L & R speaker outs on the amp, and at the same time run the speaker wiring to the same outs also?

How do I do this with 2 subs stereo low level? I have a intergrated amp and power amp bridged togther which creates monoblock. Right speaker on the intergrated and left speaker on the power amp. I have one sub out and 5 line outs on the intergrated.
I have a pair of t5i that doesn't ground well with my particular amplifiers. Want to try my luck with low level.

ive got a question please, if i have 2 Rel subwoofers with each have only 1 low level input do i connect still to the subwoofer output? or do i connect 1 to the left pre RCA and 1 to the right pre RCA? going on with the question assuming i connect to the RCA, if i connect external amp to the avr to the pre RCA can i use Y RCA splitter to connect both the amp and the subwoofer ?
going forward if i can use a Y splitter do i connect the y splitter to the amp or to the avr? which of these 2 will send the singnal to my subwoofer? ty

Hi, I'd like to connect my T-zero to Yamaha a-s1200 via low level (Yamaha's manual says not to use high level connection when connecting an active sub). So, the a-s1200 amp has a double-RCA pre-out. Should I use a Y-cable to connect a single RCA input of T-zero to a double-RCA output of the amp? REL manual says, that there's no point in connecting to both pre-out terminals. Does it mean I should attach only 1 of 2 Y-rca cable ends to pre-out? Can I yet connect both?

I tried the LS50W Sub out put to LfE input of the sub, the result was not so good!
Now I realize I should connect the sub output to low level

still dont understand, if kef ls50 speakers have 1 sub output from each speaker, why you show on this video the connecting process only from one speaker, but ignore the second speaker? and how then we can connect rel single low level rec input if KEF speakers have 2 total rca sub outputs, and also speakers may be far from each other
