I did a day trip from Chisinau to Tiraspol, the capital city of Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic (Transnistria) - the 'separatist' region of Moldova. The journey took about an hour by minivan and went through a border check.
Since I was there on a day trip, I was given a Migration Card with stay up to 10 hours only.
Tiraspol, the capital is walkable with lots of Soviet styled buildings. Sunday was not a good day to visit as most shops were closed.
