CIY X79 - could've been a good keyboard for $49

I took a chance with the cheapest triple mode hot swappable RGB keyboard on amazon, the CIY X79. It could have been the perfect budget option to mod it into a great keyboard. However, the keyboard has serious light flickr which to me, is indicative of issues with the PCB and I was not willing to take a change with that.

I just got this keyboard and I love it. It's not perfect, the dongle storage is just asking for Murphy to walk off with the dongle, and the native Evo Red switches on the X79 are pretty awful... but I was planning on replacing them with Outemu Silent Lemon from the start. The best thing about it is the Fn layer has Home and End under PgUp and PgDn like the people who programmed it actually used the motion keys.

I don't see the flicker on mine you're showing on your keyboard, and it's pretty pronounced in your video so it's possible you got a lemon there. I could care less about the lights, I turn those off.

are the CIY evo red switches heavier/lighter, stiffer, scratchier than regular cheery mx reds in your opinion ? thank you
