IFI Audio Made a Headphone Amp and DAC Combo You Need to Hear!

I recently received the ifi Audio Zen ONE Signature and Zen CAN Signature for review. Being that I was already using the predecessor the Zen DAC, I was looking forward to the upgrade. But was it in fact an upgrade?

I’m using the Signature combo and love it. On cables, not a fan of the Pentacon balanced cable, my custom Mogami phono cables are better. Secondly, a further upgrade can be had by changing to linear power supplies, I definitely wouldn’t power it from the USB. Finally, I switched the cables on my Sundaras to a fully balanced braided cable of OFC and not only did it sound better, it’s dramatically better to use than the springy, too short standard offering. Set up like this I think you’d have to go a long way to beat it.

Thanks for the great review! I'm trying to sort out my desktop DAC/AMP stack or non-stack options and the iFi components seems very well made and rated. Also in-play are offerings from Topping i.e. A30/D30 Pro - the DAC lacks bluetooth but support XLR interfaces....as well as the cool USA based Schitt stuff which I like but parts availability issues....After arguing with myself a bit more, probably hone in on iFi and since I do own a pair of Sundara's, a good fit. Thanks again.

hi mike, do you notice a tick sound when you change settings from HFM to XSpace and when HFM+XSpace to off ? Same goes to powermatch from 18db to 0db ?

I have the Zen Dac V2 and have no idea which direction to go for my DT 1990 Pros that are inbound with Velour Pads..
I will use them mostly for rap/rock & FPS gaming
Was looking at a good stack but not sure which direction to take budget is roughly $600-$800

How does the Steelseries GameDac do with Music? Ik love music but my son loves playstation. The only reviews I can find are in combination with a Steelseries headphone, aimed at gaming (no bass). I’m curious how it does with a pair of active speakers.. wil it be worth it?

i have zen dac v2 and i really enjoy the Trubass button. do I losse this function if i got the singuter can amp ? or it can be applied aside with xspace
