I got some drone footage of hundreds of them in La Jolla Cove here last week. Such cool animals in their proximity to us.

Knowing that if you see lemons chilling in the shallows, there's a chance of whites in the deeper water around them is a great bit of info. For swimmers, surfers, and sightseers alike.

Have unintentionally stepped on so many of these while surfing in SoCal.

I love snorkeling with Leopard sharks in La Jolla. One of the coolest things to do there.

love the great white footage but something new is great. I used to swim with leopard sharks all the time with my Dad. RIP.

When I was growing up in the 1980s we didn’t see many Leopard sharks in La Jolla cove and shores. I don’t live there anymore but I am astounded at the numbers! Seems like nature continues to heal.

As a young girl our family often visited a beach in San Clemente. I cut my toe standing in the shallows and a baby leopard shark showed up, prompting me to run out of the water. But we never feared going out past the breakers and body surfing them all the way in to shore. I'm sure there must have been sharks around us at some point but we never saw any. Would it be the same now if I let my kids swim in the same waters?
