You need to find one that is clear liquid with a colored wax. I had a clear liquid purple wax that lasted more than 20 years. The colored liquid ones are complete crap and they get cloudy sooner than later. I have a blue liquid with yellow wax now that got cloudy after a couple months and I've tried everything including putting it in the freezer and refrigerator hoping and trying to get the cloudiness to reabsorb into the wax but nothing works.

I feel the bigger the lamp, the worse the lava flow is. The 16.4" lamps are hit and miss. I have a black and green one that works nicely, but the inside of the globe has gotten a residue on it, which is unfortunate.

Despite my gripe, I love Lava Lamp. I'd love for reddit to blow up their stock but they don't have a P.O.

*WARNING:* I bought a purple Lava Lamp Grande (from Walmart), and had returned it 6 times. Each time they sent one to me it was cloudy so I would return it. The instructions say "it will clear up with 3-5 days of use", but it doesn't. I want one that works so bad, but I don't have the time or energy to keep returning them in hopes of a good one.

Dont bother buying a 27 inch one. I got it from Amazon and it came cloudy. That's what I get for ordering cheaply made Chinese junk. The only good ones are sold in the UK but they wont ship to the USA so I'm outta luck

I'm american and I find this offensive. You don't show off your perspectives correctly and I have no way of knowing how many inches one of the lava lamps were. Disgarding the description. You should have put a quarter pounder with extra cheese to the left side of the lava lite...
