Makes sense, bigger guys have more weight. So their knees deal with a lot more wear and tear compare to someone who weighs 155 pounds.

The good thing most (not all) heavyweights have going for them is not having to worry about cutting weight

No it's more like less sample size there are billions of 5'7 to 5'11 but only millions of like 6'2 to 6'6

The bigger you are, harder you fall and harder you hit. Just because youre 260 you dont have a thicker skull or spine than a smaller guy, youre just getting hit alot harder

Because of this it’s also easier for up and coming heavyweight mma fighters to make it to the ufc because of the very limited competition especially compared to very competitive divisions like 155.

Training to have that level of cardio while still maintaining your weight must be a struggle

Just like it's impossible to be undefeated at heavyweight throughout thier cereer.

They're hit so hard.😂

What’s crazy is back when UFC started they didn’t have a division under 155

Adversely, speed goes away first and that affects the smaller guys far more than the bigger guys

I think he overlooks the fact that there are not that many people who are 6'5 lol.
Thats a big factor clearly. A 6ft man is not going to try and dominate the heavywieght division. He would go middleweight or light heavy weight at worst.

Dana needs to pressure Jones to defend or vacate. Things need to keep moving.

I’d argue that football running backs and tight ends take just as much of a beating, just not a punch to the face. But it’s nonstop every 40 seconds a big hit, and it’s an hour long game. Hockey players are the toughest of them all though. The speed and power of the collisions these guys are in defy physics!

I knew he'd have triple c in there when he said its a small guys sport 😂😂

Little guys also go into Rugby. Shane Williams is one of the best Welsh wingers and try scorers of all he played his first international match weighing 12 stone (75kgs) at 5foot7 height....

Im guessig his body took a LOT more punishment than the big lads did!!! When a 22 stone man tackles a 12 stone man, and the 12 stone man gets up and keeps yeah, that man is hard as nails.

You know this Tom, youre British!!!

Middleweight and lhw should naturally have the least amount of competitors as ppl at those sizes have way more options to compete in different more lucrative sports.

HW’s are genetic outliers and with mma being still pretty new not many big guys look that direction especially with the risk to reward ratio
