Slow living isn’t a trend for me. It's a lifestyle I have embraced for years; I learned it from my mom and grandma. We always just took our time to enjoy the beauty of the everyday. I’m a romantic at heart, with a very practical lifestyle approach “ keep it simple.” I grew up on a farm, which furthered my love of simplicity and back to the basics mindset.

We moved almost a year ago to our cozy cottage (check out our mobile home remodel, turning ugly into a sweet cottage), and we are in the process of fixing it up.

I strive to make our home cozy and inviting no matter what stage of remodeling we are in. Making a home hygge and cozy is just a normal way of life for me, and I can’t imagine it any other way.

I feel the same sweet reminiscence towards Lilacs, from my childhood. The first thing I planted when moving here 30 years ago, was a Lilac bush. . There is nothing quite so nice as walking past that bush, it's scent fills the air with loveliness.

I never think to use lilacs for beverages or food, but I have three huge bushes in my back yard that I should investigate!

Also, I'll bet candying the lilacs would be a nice way to decorate baked goods, too.
