God (being God) didn't need to rest. He could have created the whole world in 1 day if He wanted to.

Jesus said to pray that the future events in Matthew 24 dont take place on the Sabbath. The reason being is that there is still a Sabbath as there will be one when Jesus reigns on earth (Isaiah 66;23). Sabbath is made for man. It is a blessing. If more pastors rested on the Sabbath they wouldn't need to take sabbaticals.

Let's dive into that. In the Old Testament, tithing referred to giving a tenth of one's earnings, primarily agricultural, to support the Levites, who had no land of their own, and the poor (Numbers 18:21-24, Deuteronomy 14:28-29). This was a requirement under the Law of Moses.

In the New Testament, the focus shifts to giving, but it’s more about the spirit of generosity rather than a mandated percentage. 2 Corinthians 9:7 says, "Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver." This reflects a more personal, heart-led approach to giving, based on what one can afford and feels led to contribute.

The Greek word for "tithe" is "dekate, " which does mean "a tenth." While this concept is not emphasized in the New Testament, the principle of supporting the church and those in need is still present, but it's done out of love and willingness, not obligation.

It sounds like your concern is about the pressure to give a specific amount when finances are tight. The New Testament encourages generosity according to one's ability, without causing hardship. It’s about the heart behind

Really good series this! My wife and I love it! Thank you!
However...what happened to giving the tithe? That is under old covenant?

Confused. Why he said we need to tithe on a regular basis so we can rest in God, but tithing is old testament law. Maybe he meant giving....
