I'm suprised climate change not on that list. They touched on it slightly referring to Mississippi River. The extreme heat a drought played major role in cross as well as cattle summer 2022. 10k head cattle died in June in KS from heat. Cattle farmers I'm TX, OK, KS & AR sold off their heard for pennies due to heat & drought the grass in the fields turned to dust & no hay grew. People like me who have gardens started losing crops in spring when temps hit 100° 1st week of March. Temperatures continued to climb & we entered into severe drought. Entire state of Arkansas was under drought warning in June. By Aug multi areas were under water boil orders & a couple towns went completely dry. What plants I was able to keep alive the flowers burnt up in the heat. My hens even stopped laying sure to the heat. 84° was my night time low w day time heat index hitting >112°.
2023 spring & summer forecast is warning that we will b 2-4° warmer & below avg rain.
Americans (the world) has to get serious on food production at the individual, community, & local level. We also have to learn how to grow, what to grow, & when to grow. Hydroponics uses 90% less water than traditional dirt beds. Healthy fresh greens can easily b grown indoors in the winter & hot summer months.
