So far, many of the Disney series seems to be painting a clear picture of what Palpatine's plan was from the beginning, which included several backup plans 'if' he failed to cheat his destiny (one that he had foreseen). An example to this is the clones, of which were more than just an army that he had created, but for the opportunity to live on within a clone body. THAT is why so much testing is being seen in 'The Bad Batch', as weel as what was seen in the video game 'Star Wars- The Force Unleashed 2'. The force can't be cloned, but 'maybe' the metaclorian cells can be cloned, which would give a clone the ability to connect to the force (in theory). In EU/Legends, this barely worked and Palpatine barely survived the process after 'dying' on the second Death Star.

I’m still not clear on how there wasn’t a “Rebel Alliance Academy” to train fighter pilots prior to the fall of the Imperial Senate in 0 BBY in _A New Hope_ . Does that mean that Biggs Darklighter who had so much disdain for the Empire, trained at the Imperial Academy and that Luke wanted to do the same thing as Biggs? And then just like Biggs, Luke would take the skills he learned from the Imperial Academy, and defect to the Rebel Alliance?
