Hi I have a problem which I hope that you can help me with. I have a PS1 model number scph 5552 pal and it works flawlessly and if I install my blaze Xplorer FX cheat cartridge into the parallel I/o port it boots up and lets me select cheats and starts my pal final fantasy 7 no problem with cheats activated. But it will not work at all ever with final fantasy 8 or final fantasy 9 it just gets to a black screen. I can't for the life of me figure out what is wrong the console works 100% the cartridge works 100% eg with final fantasy 7 but ff8 and ff9 will not boot with the cheat cartridge installed but they boot without it. The console is pal and the games are pal and the cartridge is pal

There was one which which i cannot remeber the name of it now but basically it came packaged with a spring device to press down on the cd tray closed button, you'd boot PS with an original disk.which would spin read copy protection and stop on the menu you show, next all you had to do was replace the cd with the backup cd and press the cd-rom start button which would then boot into the game since the PS would think the same original cd is installed hence why the spring would keep the tray open button closed. Unfortunately they dont work for multi-cd games since the console wants to see that the disk tray has been opened and closed beginning the searching for the copy protection sector before continuing back into the game which is why i had my old PS chipped properly sonce i couldnt play certain games. I wish i kept my "game shark" device though since i no longer needed it i gave it to a friend, worst decision i ever made

The "Parallel I/O" port is nothing like that of s PC. This isn't Sony's interpretation of the PC parallel port. It's a 68-pin expansion port that pinout suggests was intended for adding additional multimedia experiences but to the next of my knowledge the only official use of the port was for the Psy-Q cart which was kind of s mix of xplorer and caetla.

I almost said that they have the “normal mode” so that you didn’t have to remove it every time you didn’t want to use it. But then I remembered the on/off switch. The only thing I can think of is that it allows you to turn it off without having to get up to switch it off.

They should have held on to the gold for a few more years. It went to 100, 500, 1000 per oz fast, how fast, fast as Kathleen Kennedy killed star wars, lol. I think it was seriously about that snout of time
