Easy way to beat him.... fight him at the wide side of the bridge, get him to drop his little statue. Once he does run to the other side and it will not make him take less damage or do more dmg.

There's a hole in the bridge about half way up. If you manoeuvre him right you can just kick him off

Quick tip for the statue I saw him destroy it himself when I was fighting only took him one hit as well

If you run to the opposite of the ring the totom wont effect him till he spawns a new one
