My Natural Hair Care Routine for Long Hair!

How to grow long hair? Today i'm sharing all about my journey to waist length hair! I believe it can happen because #blackhairgrows When i started, my hair was thin and couldn't grow past my ears. Today, my hair is full and falls past my shoulders. Here are the products i use:

1. What is on your head & why does it look so good?
- Thank you! I have microlocs (180 of them) and they look good because I have a very simple wash and styling routine that mostly allows my hair be. I’m on a waist length hair journey and I believe I can get there because #blackhairgrows currently, my hair is shoulder length

2. When did you start this new hair journey & why?
- In June 2022, I decided to do something about my hair because it was drying out, breaking, cutting off and refusing to grow anymore. Most people would cut everything off at this point but I chose to loc mine & it has allowed my hair to gently repair and heal itself. Sometimes you’ve just got to switch things up!

3. Who did you loc your hair with & how much did it cost?
- I loc’d my hair with @locd_bydona and the going rate was N50, 000 at the time but that was 2 years ago 🙃 idk what it will cost now

4. How often do you retie your hair to make it neat and does it hurt? How much does it cost?
- I retie once every 6 weeks and it costs an average of N15, 000 depending on what i include. I wouldn’t say it hurts; it’s like asking someone if braiding their hair hurts 🤷🏽‍♀️

I've had my natural locs for 3 years, ever since I barbed almost bald in honour of my dearly departed dad.

I was born with locs but have been relaxing it since I was toddler. Although I went natural 2016, I've been chopping it off at neck length as my hair grows so thick and often unmanageable. In fact since 2016 I've chopped my hair off 5 times and twice was a huge chop.
Now, I think I have the hang of it. I wash and condition 3 times a month.
Shea butter and coconut oil are my go-to.

I'm "locced" for life. 😊
