RDR2 | You can still get the Missouri Fox Trotter as Arthur very early in Chapter 2

Whatever you do, do not dismount the MFT. Only after you've stabled and saddled her you can save, then load, then she's yours until the end.

September 2024, still works. Though I definitely had a tough time jumping to the MFT took me 3 or 4 tries from the start of the mission

This no longer works.

You can do it and get the horse and stable it. But even if you ride it to a stable, name it, save the game, reload, and take it for a ride, once you get off it won’t allow you back on or any options to feed, lead, pat, etc. will no longer appear leaving your stranded with a horse that will only follow you arround

Edit* just tried again, if you put it the stable, name it, leave stable in original horse, save game, load game, take the MfT out of stable, feed/brush it, put back in stable, tale original horse out, save, reload, THEN it will allow you to keep get off and get back on.

7/8/2023 -- This still works, I followed everything he did step by step and I am now riding on my very own MFT! I tried the other ways of getting the horse and couldn't get them to work. Face rock, moonstone pond, and carmody dell all seem to be patched. I shot that lady with the respawing MFT probably 350 times. Many different reloads and couldn't get the horse to spawn alive. But this method still works great. Tricky but well worth it!~

My favorite is the silver Turkoman, and I ride him every play through. It’s a perfect horse for Arthur. Thanks for the great video.

For anyone trying to do this, shoot the horse before the picture is taken, but don’t kill it. Shoot it until it’s head hangs low, it makes it easier to track and catch.

It’s hard work but I feel it would make my Arthur happy…I mean he asked for a strong fast horse, the MFT is a strong and fast horse 🤷🏼‍♀️

I’m on PS5 and got the horse but as soon as I take it out of the stable and get off of it I can’t get back on it. I’ve stabled it and everything but it will not let me get on it after I dismount

So i tried this and it worked for I while, i tracked it all the way to butchers creek where the trail just dashed off a cliff over the trees as if it had sprouted wings xD.. is it possible i was too slow and it spawned off the map after a while ? Feels like i got trolled by R* xD

Good video will be getting it on my next playthrough.. but jeez the game gives you a lasso.. use it lol.. always funny to watch horse videos and people are struggling just to get on the horse

Gonna be honest I mostly played this game for the story and did just a few side missions along the way. I haven't replayed it since. Glad I killed Micah though.
