Brick on my 52โ€™ house looks the same (pattern). Just starting the learning process, it seems I have a 6:1:1 or 5:1:1 mortar mix. Sand grains are bigger almost like a sharp sand.

Thats how i have been doing it and im no brick guy. Biggest problem i have is keeping the mud on the lil tuck trowel when going to push it in the hole. What product are yall using? You must have it at the perfect consistency
