Vampire novel you say? Well.... Anne Rice is always wonderful. I love her. But, I'm also OBSESSED with the Chicagoland Vampires series by Chloe Neill. The first one is Some Girls Bite. They're AMAZING and the final book comes out in April and IDK what I'm going to do once they're over.

Throat by RA Nelson. It's so different from any other vampire book I've ever read! Basically this teenage girl with epilepsy, Emma, has a seizure during a soccer game & gets into a fight (it also takes away her possibility of trying for her driver's license -so many months clean, etc.). She storms off and is bitten by a vampire. But instead of being transformed completely, she's like a bizarre hybrid. Emma runs away to protect her Mom and little sister, taking refuge at a NASA base, which eventually becomes a sort of "Home Alone" situation when her "maker" does come after her. It's very amazing and has some very unique vampire mythos. Highly recommended! :D

my favourite vampire novel is The Immortal Rules! The Coldest Girl in Coldtown was pretty good too, but I had some problems with it. But just the premise of that one I think was sooo interesting. I feel like it would be a great TV show. And it doesn't even have to be the same story with the same characters, just the premise. And it could be called Coldtown. Ha.
But because of the problems I had with it, it's not my favourite. Just thought I should mention it. haha. So yeah, The Immortal Rules. Actually more specifically, The Eternity Cure, which is the sequel to that book, is my favourite. Allie is just so badass and awesome and I loved Jeckyl and Kanin and ugh. So good. hahahahaha.
I got way too excited to answer that question.

I've been curious about the Splintered series for quite a while, but never actually ended up reading it for some reason.
Goodreads goals are a tricky thing. When I barely missed mine last time around, I had to remind myself that I can't always meet the goal, because then I'd have to start setting a higher goal.
My favorite vampire novel is probably Interview with the Vampire. I read it such a long time ago, though, so I have no idea if I would get the same things out of it now.

Bloodsucking Fiends by Christopher Moore, it's the only vampire series anyone ever has to read.

Favorite vampire novel is hard, but i'm going to say Blood Price by Tanya Huff, the first in her Victoria Nelson series, which introduces the character Henry Fitzroy a 500+ year old vampire and illegitimate son of Henry VIII who is a main character in this series, and comes up in some of her other work. I also liked the Historian, which I listened to on CD several years ago. More than 26 hours, if I recall correctly.
