Two reasons why to keep Physical Media:
1. When certain Movies/TV Shows on Digital Media are deleted, how else are you going to watch them?
2. Getting your Physical Media autographed by the actors makes them valuable collectors items.

People(like myself) will buy the physical media and still keep the streaming service. The convenience of all of the shows on the streaming platform is still there and now we have the collecting aspect as well. It’s a win win for Disney

I love physical media! Power to ownership!

I think it's for people like me that don't want to subscribe to Disney plus. This is good news for me. Not a streaming fan

I definitely will be getting andor physical. Anything you love you better get it on physical media because you never know when they can get taken away.

There is still a portion of the audience like myself, that will watch Streaming, but still want to own physical media. I love how Disney+ put out the first two seasons of The Mandalorian and WandaVision last year. So I will definitely be picking up all of these when they come out. Plus, it will be cool to watch them all in glorious 4K Blu-ray.

This isn’t even the first wave they’re doing. They did it last year with Mando, Loki and Wandavision

It’s a sign that streaming alone isn’t enough. I will keep the service because without it I may never buy the physical media. Nice to be able to try the product first before paying to own it.

Speaking as someone that works in the physical media industry - Obi-wan was marketed originally as a miniseries so labeling it as a complete series makes sense because they did not ever intend to release more than the select number of episodes. FYI there have been instances in the past where shows were indeed called complete series after only releasing “one season” but then years later have more seasons come out and have to eat crow and re-adjust their marketing dialogue when releasing physical media on additional seasons.

There is another reason to do this...beyond making collectors like me happy. There are large segments of the country that can't get streaming. I have family in such a part of the country and I provide then with discs because other than cable, they can't get anything. And in the case of Marvel (less so with Star Wars), the shows are becoming required viewing. I feel what they should have done with the first batch late last year was they should have had that be WandaVision and Ms. Marvel. Those are the 2 shows you really needed to see to follow the Marvels which was in theaters that same time. The second batch, this one coming next month, should have been Loki season 1 and 2. Why? Because the TVA connects to Deadpool which is the next thing up. Then the third batch (perhaps next November) could have been Falcon and Winter Soldier (because Cap 4 would be the next movie up) and Hawkeye (you know, because of Xmas). My idea is to calibrate the release of the shows that are relevant to the movie about to come put. Obviously they aren't doing this by release order because they're skipping around. My point is if you are like my family and are buying these collections because you can't get Disney+, they should structure these releases to benefit you. And if all they care about is people who CAN get Disney +, then they wouldn't be doing this at all.

Absolutely insane that with this second wave of shows being released physically, John’s reaction is that it's a sign physical media is dying

This is for collectors. We have been asking for this.

Bit rate is king. Why are we getting better, bigger TVs and cock blocking them with low bit rates? Disney says 25Mbps for 4K, but I bet you're not getting all of that 25Mbps no matter how good your internet speed is. Plus, that's about a third of physical media 4K. It's not even HD bit rate. Physical media is still best. Personally, I don't care much for the extras in Steel Books and such, but I still want that physical media quality.
Also, look for the KaiPatterson cuts of Obi-Wan and Book of Boba Fett. Trust me.

Andor only new Star Wars property that deserves it.

Physical media has much better 4k and Atmos quality. collectors will notice difference if they have a nice system.
