The Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission of UNESCO promotes the dissemination and the use of ocean literacy materials and resources to schools and students from all around the world, manages an ocean literacy portal which acts as one-stop-shop for ocean literacy resources, and organizes training and capacity development activities in collaboration with other IOC-UNESCO units and with the Ocean Teacher Global Academy.

Dr Emma Camp is the Deputy Team Leader of the Future Reefs Program within the Climate Change Cluster at the University of Technology Sydney. She is an Australian Research Council (ARC) Discovery Early Career Research Award Recipient (DECRA) & Chancellor’s Postdoctoral Research Fellow. Her research focuses on the physiology, ecology and biogeochemistry of coral reefs. She holds an Honorary Position with the United Nations as part of the second class of Young Leaders for the Sustainable Development Goals and am a National Geographic Explorer.
