Italy is by far the European country with the most elevated highways. Genoa, Naples, Rome, Milan, Trieste and more cities have all long expressway-like viaducts like in no other European city of the same size. The case of Genoa is even more peculiar because of how central this particular "sopraelevata" is.

Wow, I didn't know about this! It reminds me of the Alaskan Way Viaduct in Seattle that we just spent three billion dollars to replace with a tunnel. It made the waterfront so much nicer. I wonder if one day this road will get that sort of treatment.

Brought back memories of my time in Europe, i remember driving on this elevated way in 2017, I drove from Germany to Milan and then one day trip to Genoa. From Milan to Genoa is pretty much flat, not much of breath-taking scenery as compared to the Mediterranean coastal highway A10/E80 driving towards Nice/Marseille

From 7:38 to 8:25 there is the thing I hate most when I drive in Italy – unconsequent, ambiguous, chaotic signage which is often posted right before the intersection without any warning before. In this case, that right lane arrow on 8:00 told something way different than it did in 7:38 and usually does in this country (normally it says that the exit lane on the right starts soon, but in this case it meant that this particular lane is the exit lane). Even the reckless drivers are less frustrating than their signage 'logic'.

Reminds me of the Whitehurst Freeway in Washington, DC, USA, as well as the torn-down Embarcadero Freeway in San Francisco, California. Similar views, lengths, and speed limits.
