The Queen and Governor General are not just figure heads the play an important constitutional role. The Queen or Governor General do not have to listen to the Prime Minister when they advise the Monarch because the crown has reserve powers which they can use when they want but they are mostly used in Constitutional Crisis

I've always had a keen interest in politics, but I'd much rather be Governor General then Prime Minister. Personally I'd never want to be PM, far too much criticism in that job. GG, less criticism, more influence & a much better (bigger) house to live in lol.

Please, Your Excellency the Right Honourable David Johnston, if bill C-30 comes across that desk of yours do not grant it Royal Ascent. Uphold the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms wherein Canadians have the right to be secure against unreasonable search and seizure. Warrant-less searches are un-Canadian.
