I updated my A1 today and am most impressed indeed by the super fast startup, this will be great for birding. The bird eye AF on the 200-600 G was the best that it has ever been today.Thanks Sony, this has really made my A1 fantastic!

Worked perfectly on my 2019 macbook pro (pre M1 chip), updated from ver 1.31 to 1.35 then to 2.01 Connected to Creators' app on iphone as prompted. Then downloaded and installed the MG CAMSET from Patreon after saving the Sony CAMSET as backup. Thanks so much!!

Thanks for the helpful video. I'm pleased with the increased functionality of my a1 after this 2.01 firmware update. It was a nuisance to re-program all my customization. However, the upside is that I have taken the time to re-think my setup, started fresh and in the end, have a much improved tool kit for my sport and wildlife photography.

They better provide a FW 3.0 update with Pre-Capture, Focus Stacking & Animal/Bird Eye AF in Video in June after the R1 debuts. I forgive Sony as long as they are holding back arrows intentionally to counter the R1

Thanks for the update video, Mark. 1) Do you have a new Camset file for the 2.1 update or does the older 1.xx one work? 2) Is your e-book updated to reflect the new features. I can understand that being rather challenging to keep up to date. Interestingly, I tried updating just a couple days ago, and the driver file was missing from the web site.

Thank you so much for your awesome work you put into your videos. Do you plan on doing a movie on the latest firmware camera settings for the A1… some of the newer items people don’t have a clue, including me as to what they are and what they do. Maybe you can consider doing a movie on this. Thank you again.

Mark, have you updated your A1 firmware to 2.02? I did before my trip to Colombia, which may have been a foolish mistake. Besides clearing out all of my custom settings, I'm having the worst ISO problems, even shooting at 4, 000 or 5, 000. I never had that problem before. It feels like I'm shooting ISO 10, 000 or 12, 000.

Have you experienced this? Is there a feature or setting I need to switch on to fix the noise in the menu? Even shooting with the new Sony 300mm at f/4, 1/800, ISO 4, 000 noise galore! I am absolutely lost. I'm just so disappointed as I'm in the forest a lot with hummingbirds now i have so much noise it's terrible and I can't figure it out.

I do greatly appreciate your assistance or guidance.

Hello Mark, always super helpful, always find your videos helpful, thank you for making this. Does this update solve the sudden blackout on the first shot of a sequence which was for some reason added in the version 2.0 software? I've found that quite annoying given the previous software didn't have this and it's a major advantage during sports photography.

Since I've spent several hours customizing the a1 for my needs, I've been reluctant to install this upgrade and go through this process again. However, I now see that one of the new features is an improvement to the performance of this camera with the 200-600 G lens. This looks like the only new feature that would be of interest to me. Marc, have you had a chance to see what has changed with this camera/lens combination with v. 2.01? Thank you.

Is it possible to save the settings before the update and load in the settings after? I understand this might not work since this firmware is quite a big change.

Hoping this update relates at all to the new CF Express 4.0 cards (with almost double the speed of 2.0). And a question, wondering if these new cards can open up any new video shooting options. Hopefully new Options that can not already be done with the 2.0 CF Express - like in high frame rate high resolution video modes, or if it helps in situations when bursts of stills need to be taken? - Love this cam keeps getting better.

After updating to 2.01, the rate of battery drain is extraordinary, and the camera heats up just being on and in movie mode, even when in airplane mode. When it is connected to the Creators app, the heat buildup and battery drain (in whatever mode) makes the combination essentially pointless.

I just left my camera off overnight, in airplane mode and with the power switch in the Off position, and it still drained 7% of the battery.

Is it safe (or even possible) to downgrade the firmware back to 1.35?

I did all the procedure in the right way and right now I have all the issues are sailing in the web in forums and fb groups:
-battery drain
-WiFi Bluetooth failure
-my 200 600 become a miserable lens, when it works I have no AF, no subject detection, and when it doesn’t it turn off the camera and I have to take off the battery to reboot it.
All started happening after the 2.01 firmware update came out.
Very disappointing
