Don't think it was mentioned in the interview, but the reason why Sunny at the end said "thoughts are with you and your family" is because her partner of 40+ years, Canadian novelist Graeme Gibson died two days ago at the age of 85. He had been suffering from Dementia.

This is way over Abby and Meghan's heads. They don't get it.

That’s the whole point of the book (s), Abby. Who let this woman in here?! I’m so confused.

Margaret Atwood is actually related to me. She is my grandmothers cousin I believe I remember my mom being so excited to find that out lol

I loved Margaret Atwood’s comment about Americans running to Canada when things go pear shaped- I love this writer. Her books were textbooks for us in Highschool and college English classes. She really teaches you to try writing with a different perspective.

Meghan makes that face at the end like she's so confused by science fact that warns us about all of this.

Love that they only gave Atwood a moment... any longer and she'd have eaten them. Also love that they have one of the most prominent, intellectually inclined, popular authors living in North America on their show and they pose soft ball questions to her.

Atwood made her argument very eloquently...without yelling Meghan. Take some notes. Yelling doesn’t make you right.

You have Margaret Atwood on and you give her a 5 min segment.

I find Abby's comment on the Handmaids strange. It makes her want to fight? Same woman who just caped for men to maintain head of household traditional role? I dont quite understand. Oh...yes I do. She wants the benefits of traditional roles and wants fully autonomy of herself but wont cape for anyone else who wants the same thing. got it.

It is hilarious how Margaret does not look at Meghan at all while answering her question.

Do Abby and Meghan know how hypocritical they look? ...right, probably not.

I love how Atwood handled these two women. Abby wanted to turn the convo into some tepid and ambiguous "girl empowerment" moment and Abby rightly pointed it out that it's been used to fight anti-abortion legislation the world over. Her face seemed stunned because she wanted to feel generally inspired about nothing specific and Atwood made explicit what the book is about -- which is in direct contradiction to her own belief system. Could not have been more elegant of a put down.
