Talking to a couple of Russian ladies about a year ago .. as I was about to leave them, I asked which country is best to live in...Russia, or "here"... or somewhere else?
They were very definite in their answer.. here!!!!

They were clearing interviewing the more wealthy Russians who seem to not be impacted by the war. Interview some in the rural areas.

Russia...a country with history and culture and arts and literature...place I always wanted to visit since childhood BUT now, as an old man, what has happened to a peoples of such high culture and intelligence to be run over by Putin who takes away their freedom and yet they believe they are free... such a shame...interesting that many who answered wanted to live in the Far East due to culture...heartbreaks for them all...come and visit Wales one day....we are a good people. Yes we can argue and disagree but one thing we do not compromise is the understanding that every human being has the right to pursue their dreams and passions with respect..all these young lives that will never get to experience that great literary masters...Russia is not a dumb country...I dont believe that at all. What a shame and a loss to the world culture....but what is being thrust upon Ukraine is a stain now....and of course some Russians will be afraid to speak up we get that..some will carry the party line of propaganda....with love to all those youngsters who cannot escape. xxx

It's lovely those people love to live In Russia, their motherland. If only Putin would also be same way as his fine countrymen. If he'd love Russia he would not invade other countries, but focus on making his own country even better.

People are the same everywhere. We all want a better future for our kids, physical safety of our families and a healthy environment to live in. Our leaders do a great job of messing it up for the common people.
