For those who doesn't get it, he's saying that he was on vacation eating at a restaurant in Bangkok when he got kidnapped by a Japaneese Yakuza at the age of 19. He was smuggled into Japan where he managed to escape and find shelter at a lady who lived in a decent apartment in western Osaka. He later married the woman and moved back to Luxembourg where he came from. His story got shared and he was invited to eat at the nobel price dinner. He was deeply honored by this and today he lives a happy life with his wife and 2 children in Luxembourg. Share this story to remind everyone of how grateful one should be just to have a home, a family. Waking up tommorow is worth more than any money in the world. So when you wake up tommorow, be thankful that you didn't get kidnapped by a Japaneese Yakuza at a vietnamese restaurant.

For those who don’t know you should try to keep your lower back straight when picking up weights (especially heavy ones). Picking up weights with a curve in your lower back is what some call “spine lifting” and you increase your chance of back injury. This is part of why people use belts when lifting heavy weights as they help you figure out how much to brace your core and straighten your back. Hope this helped.

if you were wondering, he kept his back straight. when you're doing the "deadlift" motion it's good to not have your back arched too much.

Moral of the story: Don't primarily use your spine for the activity. Use your legs for the uplift.

It doesn't matter if the weight is low enough. That's why Jefferson curls are a thing. The human body is adaptable and resilient.

If it’s light weight then it’s fine to simply bend from spine rather making it straight, but if the weight is heavy always try to straighten your back .

I mean.. sure. You can use the deadlift technique for picking up anything. Or you can start to also train your spine with Jefferson curls. Your spine is designed to move. Maybe not under really heavy weight, but it's not a bad idea to train both. Otherwise you will someday have stiffness in your back and wonder where it does come from. ;)
