I saw this in theaters around 2007, and whole crowd went nuts when Optimus arrived, and then cheered when Optimus and Megatron said each other’s names. What a different time it was when there was only one live action film.

Back when Megatron was pretty much the harbinger of death for anyone, even Optimus. Before he played second-fiddle to the Fallen or Sentinel, back when just having Megatron enter the battle was enough to get the Autobots panicking.

I remember watching this in theatres. Seeing the ground forces getting beat down and one of them saying "we are so screwed", then showing optimus role up.  Their was this massive roar of applause in the theatre.  Such an awesome entrance

Back then I was 10, and so used to the hero always dominating. Seeing Optimus get his ass kicked genuinely shocked me, and it made Megatron so goddamn intimidating.

the only reason i'm rewatching is because of how amazing megatron's voice acting is. it's so convincing and you can tell that welker did not come to play games when it came to delivering a menacing megatron.

This version of Megatron should have been used in all 3 films. Then return as Galvatron in Age of extinction!
