Replacing Laptop Battery Cells

Hi, in this video i have shown how i have replaced my Dell Inspiron 1545 laptop battery pack cells with newer ones. the new cells are of higher capacity and provide a longer runtime to the laptop.

after welding the cells together, i soldered the battery circuit to the cells, placed the cells inside the battery casing, and closed the casing tightly.

insert the battery into the laptop and charge the laptop for atleast 4 hours before using for the first time.

once completely charged, the laptop can now be used normally. the laptop now gives a better backup of about 3 hours compared to the 1.5-2 hours of the original battery, thus the project is a success

Putting 10 high power welds on a cell in 5 seconds is gonna cook the insides, you know you can always just wait in between cells, I usually just tack them on then come back to each cell once I've let it cool down to minimize damage

Changing the cells is easy. The hard part is to make windows accept the battery after the cell exchange

And how do you UNBLOCK the battery CHIP? It wont work like that.

It will not work bu just replacing cells . .have to reset or unlock BMS

What if you have a battery with a micro-controller and it's still not recognizing the battery after replacing the cells?

Please did you reset the BMS? I did the same thing I changed the battery cells, but I didn't get any voltage on the positive output terminal. Is there any solution please?

As far i know there is a chip which counts charges and its not that simple to reset it

You didn’t show battery capacity before replacing cells. Was it about 2 min? 😂

I checked with a spare laptop battery made in China, and like many other equipment made in China, they are nor done to be later maintained, there is no protuberant area to open the battery, everything is flat and soldered, you have to destroy it to open it. Better explain how to build a laptop battery from scratch.
