This session introduces the concept of MyCandidate, a platform created by Open Cities Lab and used during elections to provide comprehensive information about candidates (which has successfully run during elections in South Africa, Kenya, Nigeria, Sierra Leone, and soon to be Zimbabwe). About the Speaker:
• Ella Alcock has worked for Open Cities Lab (OCL) since 2020. With a background in Business Science, specializing in Economics with Law, Ella brings a unique blend of critical and analytical thinking. In her current role as Junior Project Lead, Ella spearheads the MyRepresentative program at OCL, focusing on citizen participation in the democratic cycle. Her commitment to empowering citizens and fostering transparent democratic processes drives her work.
