2023 Toyota Sequoia: First Look (New TRD Pro)

The 2023 Toyota Sequoia replaces the current model after 15 years in production and looks super cool.

This new model is offered in several trim levels, including the TRD Pro model that we filmed, in addition to a top-of-the-line Capstone model and Limited. The Sequoia is now hybrid-only with one powertrain that comes standard on all trims. It’s a twin-turbo 3.5-liter V6 putting out 437 horsepower and 583 pound-feet. When equipped with the right package it can also tow up to 9,000 pounds. We don’t have fuel economy numbers yet but we can expect to vastly improve on the last-gen’s big thirsty V8.

Inside, the Sequoia adopts a lot of its character from the Tundra, with a huge 14-inch central screen that runs the latest software from the company. That means wireless apple car play and android auto, Apple Music integration, and impressive connectivity all around. The rest of the cabin includes nice materials like leather and red accent stitching t complement the TRD Pro badging. There are heated and cooled seats, a heated steering wheel, and a wireless charging pad, among other conveniences.

I disagree the rear end is tastefully done they didn’t just put light on it from the tundra truck they gave it its own identity in the rear of the vehicle seeing how it’s a tundra suv.

Very surprised the TRD Pro which is supposedly the most off-road capable Sequoia, does not offer more ground clearance compared to the rest of the range. From the rear dead on, it looks very similar to the new LC300. I like its looks, very tough and masculine.

As a TRD Pro, this should have more ground clearance. It’s the gd off road edition Toyota! Jeez.
Edit: plus no recovery hooks on the TRD and no auto 4wd system.

Wish they'd make a Suburban-length Sequoia. We had a 2013 Sequoia and loved it, but was just a bit small behind the third row. Got a 2021 Tahoe, which was larger, but still not enough space for our stuff (three little boys), so now we have a 2022 Yukon XL and it fits us. The new Sequoia looks awesome, but need that extra length!
