I HAD A WONDERFUL pair. Best dogs that I have ever owned. But not for the inexperienced handler. I rarely needed to use treats to train them. They enjoy learning and being part of the family.

We are on Giant Schnauzers number 6 and 7. We owned them now for 33 years and they are the only breed for me. Unfortunately my wife and I got old so I’m pretty sure the 2 we have now will be our last. Luckily they are only 2 and 3 years old.

Made of bone, muscle, and VELCRO! Too funny! 100% right! The look they give you when you try to make them do something they don't want! It's like: are you sure you even want to ask, think about it very carefully before asking again! 😂

I had a huge labradoodle growl at me when I was a FedEx driver, and it looked just like a giant schnauzer.

I will never have another breed but anyone who considers one I always say to make sure you are the boss of f your house or they will be the boss of your house. Also that Velcro is cute when you have a 15 lb dog but when he is 100 pounds and SO clingy it’s different. They are amazing service dogs though. We are on our second. Love these babies

You forgot they have a sense of humor. They will laugh at you!!! Training must start from puppy hood and they will learn bad habits just as quickly as what they need to know. They must be well socialized too, especially if you have children or they will protect against any rough play with other children.
Males take longer to mature, normally around age 3 they finally get their brain in gear. They have learned everything by then that they think they need to know, and it fiinally all comes together.
We bred, raised and trained them for 40+ years. Too ill to own one now but I still love them the most.

tough is an understatment. My friends giants have chased off bears multiple times. Black bears... but still., no fear.
