I live in the uk and have just bought one. There are 3 versions here. Air / GT LINE / GTLINE S / With the big battery which is the one I have. The small battery is only available on the air. A great car. It’s just won what car car of the year here in the uk.

In the UK, there are three variants, all NMC. I've just bought the long range base model, and the amount of standard equipment is amazing. If you've never opened an EV, you'll be astonished at how powerful these are. The screen is one screen, not two. This is a clever and simple solution to having a screen directly in front of the driver, plus one to the side. Tesla should have done this, but they probably didn't think of it.
I disagree about the Sat-Nav. I've been using my phone in landscape mode for years and it's fine. If you use Android auto, it zooms in when you get near a decision making point, then out again when you pass it. That works great on the car display, plus you can select to get a navigation cue directly in front of you.

Warranty and range are Waay better for the Kia than the Geely. Also, coming from a Golf, I prefer the smaller size of the Kia Ev3. Also Cloth seats have come a long way from when we were kids.

What about Moonacy protocol? 2.5% daily is pretty impressive.

Sam - don't forget that Kia gives a 7 year warranty. I bet the Zeekers don't get that.

Been driving the GT line for 3 weeks now and really pleased with it. Went for the GT line for range and the head up display. Missing the sunglasses pocket that I had in the Niro phev. You forgot to compare the warranty KIA has 7 years. The cars you compared it to doesn’t. Gives some piece of mind. Thanks for great videos.

I will never understand the obsession with larger wheels. They cost more, they weigh more, they reduce mileage, the tires cost more and wear out faster and have a harsher ride due to the lower profile. I guess people think they look cool, which is a really stupid reason to get them.

Been waiting impatiently for this release. Base model will do us fine. We are retired and rarely go long distances and have rooftop solar so it's a bit of a no-brainer really. The whole family and some friends have Kias so, yes we are "fans" of the brand. I take your point about other less well known brands having more to offer for less cash. However the strong dealer network and our history with them is worth a lot more to us.and no, we don't want vinyl seats here in Queensland. Easy enough to scotch guard and no food or drinks allowed..

Where I live EV3 has 6 variants - 3 trim levels and 2 batteries and it is extremely simple. I cannot figure out Skoda at all. They have 15 variants that all look the same and all lack what I want…..

The GTS is worth every extra penny. The sunroof is brilliant and HUD is an essential for ALL cars. The only downside are the awful 19" wheels, with NO option to switch to 17" wheels. The EU 19" block design in a 17" wheel would be brilliant.
The space inside is good and generally well thought out, the only caveat I'd put on this is the lack of concealed storage under the arm rest. It drives superbly well, it's comfortable even on 19" and has all the nippiness you're going to need. As weather warms up, we're seeing more and more 4-4.5m/kWh days, so although I found parting with my E Niro far harder than I expected, 3 months down the road, I can say that I'm very happy with the move to the EV3. Loving the V2L too, which we hope to use the power the house (V2H) in the near future.

Lots of them were already sold in Europe. The Kia EV3 is actually one of the best selling EVs at the moment.

LFP Base model?? Manufacturer of said battery cells please? as there is no information out there that suggests such chemistry in an EV3.

Im in love with the new EV4. A low front trunk probably aid to increase the range than EV3

I'm not a fan of SUVs in general but I kinda like the styling of this car.
Sometimes design can outweigh stats.

What people don't seem to talk about is although the lfp batteries have lower energy density they really don't mind being charged to 100% on a regular basis whereas Turner batteries shouldn't be charged more that 80% on a regular basis so for most most charging you can put in a similar amount of range in each battery type. In these cars the lfp has 436 km at 100% and the long range has 482 at 80%. I'd have the lfp personally.

good analysis! In the market right now for two EVs and every week there seems to be a newer and better model coming. Whoever pricing the Kia EV3 needs to have a reality check, they have no idea about how competitive this market is with the Chinese advancements and aggressive pricing. The styling is bold and spec is almost dated before even releasing in Australia, will only consider their top spec if they drop the price by 10k in here

There is no LFP battery for EV3. What is your source on this?
