Did Ed Boon just confirm Mortal Kombat 12? & More!

So if you have been following along with this saga for a while, Mortal Kombat 12 is 99.99% likely as the next Netherrealm announcement, not Injustice 3. Ed Boon on twitter has basically also now confirmed that the next game is MK12, plus more little hints and tidbits so lets dig in!

Ed Boon is very prolific on twitter, and lately his Q&A sessions... lot less mystery and lot more just him plain being blunt about whats upcoming and going on. Works out for me! As for Injustice 3 being deconfirmed, if you are one of the few diehard believers left you can check the video in the vid description from the beginning of the year, but its just not happening, sorry. Mortal Kombat 12 is where the train is going, and Ed Boon has all but konfirmed it at this point, so there ya go. Have a watch and let me know what you think!

Yeah, he pretty much did. While MK12 was leaked by industry sources for a while (as you mentioned), getting what’s effectively confirmation straight from the horse’s mouth sealed the deal. I just hope your interpretation of Ed’s TGA presence is right & there’s still hope for MK12 being revealed there.

It's nice hearing all these hints for how MK12's roster is planned to be. Makes me wonder how the rest of the game will go. Hopefully it doesn't fall in the same pits as MK11 did.

I am down for MK12. It felt like MK11 had its legs cut out from under it before it really reached its full potential.

Hopefully they take the right lessons from what worked and what didn't (and maybe throw Shao Kahn a frickin' bone). I also hope characters like Fujin and Rain make it back in because I had a lot of fun with them.

The three 3D characters you mentioned can work as they are different from the rest of the cast and I will even argue are more interesting than lets say all of the Kombat Kids and most of the other new faces from X and 11. I mean there are no vampires in MK the closest thing is scarlet and that really doesn't count and Havik is very popular so much so tons of people have been begging for him to come back. Side note i'm still very sad we didn't get any MK collection ala Original and/or 3D era. I dont get why they are so against doing these.

I remember the nvidia leak way back mentioned "injustice 3: gods will fall" as an upcoming title. Would bet thats a safe bet for a reveal soon.
Would also be really cool for mk12 to be a reboot to the 3D era like the last 3 games have been for the originals tho! 😄
