A Closer Look: Dining on the Titanic (All Classes) | Cultured Elegance

In this video we will discuss what it was like to dine aboard the titanic in first, second, and third class.

Before sinking, the RMS Titanic was a standard of luxury the world had not before seen on a ship, especially for the first class experience. This video details how a first class passenger would have spent a day aboard the luxury liner.

Is it weird that I want this culture to make a comeback? I mean just the class and elegance of it all 😎

As a titanic nerd I am exceptionally impressed. I learned many new things about the ship and life aboard. By the way the café Parisian, open to all first class passengers, was supposedly the favorite hang out space for the young and wealthy. Use of the the A La Carte restaurant as a separate independent franchise, was found on all White Star Line ships at the time. And as you said you had to pay extra when you purchased your ticket to be able to dine at that restaurant.

I feel like the 3rd class despite all the restriction had much more personal freedom. With the first class there was far too much expectations that it really didn’t offer much personal freedom. You were expected to be here or there, act a certain way, dress a certain way. Their lives seem very stifling. Yes I know you can sense this with the movie, but this breakdown just really hits the nail on the head. I learned a lot from this.

I can also see how some aspects of each class has lived on in modern cruse ships but became mixed and unfortunately taking some of the negatives from each class as well. It certainly is fascinating.

Great presentation! Meals and dining fit for a king and queen, but so sad that all that great detailed beauty and meals ended up at the bottom of the sea, destroyed and never to be again like the iconic Titantic! Thanks for showing us how it really was as well as many wonderful scenes from James Cameron's blockbuster film, "Titanic"! May those who lost their lives that fateful night rest in peace~

I used to wonder why there was such a wide range of first class cabin decor- with many rooms looking like crew cabins but being found in first class right off the grand staircase rooms. These simple cabins with the cheapest decor were for the man- and maidservants of the parlour suite passengers

To be honest, most "third class people" at that time lived and ate much more modestly in everyday life than on this ship, they could only dream of running water next to the bed and such a rich meal.
I was pleasantly surprised at how friendly and nicely decorated the third class common rooms were.

It's really the same today. First class never eats the same as coach.

Towards the end no one could complain the food lacked salt 😂

Titanic experience seemed like a paradise, for all classes. What an amazing experience to be cut short so horrifically. The last menu are all things I’d love to enjoy one last time especially the breakfast menu 😢 thank you for the awesome detailed video! 🛟

Still laughing about the ever-so-appetizingly named fish the Yarmouth Bloater. 😂

1000 bottles of wine doesn’t sound like much for 5 days.

2nd Class on Titanic was more luxurious then other ships. It is more equivalent to first class on other ships

I kind of want a restaurant that is completely Titanic themed. The first class area you have to dress in black tie attire, and it is strictly enforced. The second class and third class the dress code is fitting for those sections of the restaurant. The food and drinks would be authentic to the menus so Titanic fans will get the full experience. Oh, and the decor would match each section of the ship. Good idea?

I feel like, the third class service of the Titanic still look good even by our modern day's standard.

With Victorians/Edwardians having plates and utensils for every possible food, why did First Class have their dinner rolls placed directly on the tablecloth and not on a bread plate?

I have been to Halifax Nova Scotia where they have a cemetery with the Titanic people and a museum with Titanic stuff. I have also been to the exact spot in the ocean where the Titanic sank. Been to the Titanic museums in Pigeon Forge, Branson, Belfast, Cobh, Southampton and Liverpool. The Thompson dock and pumphouse in Belfast was the birthplace of the Titanic that one was the best experience for me out of all of them.

You could also have some tea or bouillon on deck as deck stewards would walk around with trays offering them to 1st and 2nd class passengers on Boat Deck and Promenade Deck.
You could also request it by pressing a electric call button.

This was a fantastic rendition of Titanic’s cuisine - something I’ve always been intrigued by. This video also made me hungry! 😂 Great job - that Punch Romaine is something I’m gonna have to make!
