Uvalde, Texas, Community Holds Vigil For 21 Lives Lost

As the close-knit community of Uvalde, Texas mourns monumental losses, authorities have identified the 19 children and two teachers killed, confirming they were gunned down in a single school classroom. NBC’s Morgan Chesky reports for TODAY.

I've already told my girl, once we have kids, there will be *NO public schooling* and *NO public transportation.* Our kids will be " Homeschooled " or they'll attend a Private Leadership Academy getting dropped off by us or family friends.

I work Night Shift and heard the news on my way to work. I couldn’t stop thinking of my daughter counting down the days until summer break with a paper chain I helped her make. Made me think of those children did the same. When I came home yesterday morning, I crawled into bed with her while still in my uniform and just embraced her. I couldn’t help but cry. She’s 7. Today is her last day and 12pm can’t get here fast enough to go pick her up. As a father I hope those parents find peace. I mean that with every inch of my being.

THREE (3) officers faced this 18 yo teenager outside the elementary school. Somehow this teenager was able to out-fight 3 trained police officers entering the school and locking himself into a classroom where he shot and killed most of the kids present. When media report about these three officers they always mention they sustained minor injuries but no report of gun wounds or anything like that, this means they injure themselves trying to hide and run away from the fight!. Protect and serve right?. These cowards should be held accountable for their cowardice and negligence!

How about you protect the kids as Congress is protected...or court houses. Have armed security at every entrance. Stop making schools like a wide open campus. Guns prevent more crime than committed.

An investigation of all communications by the shooter and all of his relatives, high school students and neighbors is crucial. Someone or some others knew the shooter was unstable. The store where he bought TWO RIFLES should have been a RED FLAG. How much ammunition was purchased? Did gun store talk to shooter about "2" rifles. What was demeanor of shooter during purchases?

Officers baited the shooter by asking hiding children in distress to call out "help". When a child did this, the shooter shot him, revealing the location of the shooter so that an officer could take him out.

I think this tragedy has made me realize that enough is enough.
Our schools are not keeping their promises to parents and their students. They have become grooming grounds for the political religion. Our children not getting the same level of education as children in other countries. Many graduate without the necessary reading, writing and math skills to compete in a global market.
First attack on our children was abortion, then their gender identity, and now their safety. I thinks that is enough.
We are taxed on our properties for this? I think we need to rethink our schools and how we want our children raised and educated. As for me, it's enough.
