ASMR A Map of Middle Earth (soft spoken)

Finally! It's time for Lord of the Rings and an exploration of Tolkien's beautiful map of Middle Earth. Initially I thought this would be an easy video to prepare - just rewatch some beautiful fantasy movies, right? - but instead this turned into the biggest mess of open wiki tabs I've had so far 😅 The amount of info and detail and history for this world is just staggering, and I feel like I've barely managed a little glimpse of it all.

Deutsche Version folgt am Wochenende!

The beautiful map is from Aguirreart on Etsy:

And a video on Tolkien's map that I found very interesting is this one here by Mapster:

One of the few asmrs I don't worry if someone walks in on me watching.. and also one of the all around best.

The one map to rule them all. I know how much there is to unpack when just describing the map. This was impeccably done. You reduced major concepts into bite sized, easily digestible pieces. It really puts into perspective the effort you must put in to all of the rest of the videos.

As a big fan of LOTR, I was soooo happy to see this video ☺️
Thank you for this one, and for all the others, they are gems

20:33 - A little correction for you here - Saruman didn't build the tower at Isengard. It was built by the Numenorians. Saruman was granted it's use by the kings of Gondor and settled there permanently.
Love your videos, you are a treasure.

As a huge Tolkien enthusiast let me just say how much I appreciate all the research you quite obviously did before making this video. Superbly done!

Your speaking pace is perfect. Slow, calm, soft and paired beautifully with elegant hand movements. Your knowledge of middle earth is the cherry on top.

I’d love to see you examine Arrakis (Dune) and Discworld. 😊

Absolutely love the integration of all the various Tolkien books. Intermixed with other inspirational stories like Beowulf and the Finnish mythology that inspired him. Making up Middle Earth across the different ages leading up to the Third Age of this map and the LOTR adventures of his amazing characters. You did really well piecing all this together - Fantastic. To have this presented in your ASMR is highly creative and so very relaxing - Thank You ❤❤🙏🙏

Is it weird that her pauses are my favorite trigger? 😂 the pacing is out of this world!

Metal fan reveal! Epic. Thanks for this great video. This is one of the first long books I ever read, back when I was 10, and I was obsessed with these maps printed in the covers. Lovely to see them get your treatment.

You did an outstanding job on this video. I love Tolkien, and I hope that you might do further videos on this topic. Thanks for what you do. Hands down the most RELAXING channel on YT!

If you ever get the opportunity, there's a map of Middle-earth drawn by Tolkien with annotations from him as well as Karen Wynn Fonstad. It contains details such as plant types, scribbles of things Tolkien used for his world building, etc. This map here is beautifully made with some creative liberties. Love the video!

I’ve just found your channel and this is wonderful! I love the fact that you just simply speak and don’t distract with ridiculous clicking and hissing noises like most other ASMR folk. What’s also really nice are your descriptive skills, which means I can lay my tablet down and drift off to sleep listening to you detail the finer points. Excellent stuff, a new sub here for thee.

Not sure if it's just me, but your voice sounds even softer and your hand movements feel even smoother here than in most of your previous videos... and I love it so much, somehow you managed to generate even more tingles this way, which I didn't even think is possible 🥰 I have also realized that your channel became pretty much my only source of ASMR content in the meantime and I can't even put it into words how thankful I am for the amazing work you do here for all of us ❤

Hello! I just subscribed because of this video. I love the Tolkien world, so I enjoyed this immensely, especially with your ASMR style (whispers and constant hand movements). Thanks for putting so much thought and research into your videos.

The episode I was waiting for! Amazing and very relaxing to watch. You were worried that you'd get something wrong but there's only one thing I can nitpick ;) Quenya and Sindarin weren't divided geographically, like you said that one was spoken in Mirkwood and the other one in Rivendell. Instead, Quenya was an older language, used in Valinor before the elves arrived at Middle Earth, while Sindarin is a more modern language developed in the First Age in Beleriand. Sindarin is the most common and widespread elven language, while Quenya is usually used in more official or even ceremonial manner - something like Latin in our world. But other than that, you got all the information right, you can be proud of yourself :) Definitely one of my favourite videos on your channel.

I am not a big LotR/Tolkien person but this is so well done! So well-presented, as usual, and so relaxing to watch/listen to. Your videos are also so re-watchable!
I love the idea of you doing a whole series of fantasy maps, but I also love your history maps (and your language videos, and...)
