Something I realized from playing RTG on heisman. You have to try your best to score on your earlier drives. Dink and donk, and run the clock as much you can. If you don’t build a lead, you’ll probably lose because the CPU is going to score on every drive starting around the 3rd quarter. Both the offensive and defense just randomly turn up and start making crazy plays. I watch the simulation, and three times in my last couple of close games the CPU had 75+ yard touchdowns at the end of the game. The simulation also sometimes makes your punter kick short punts so they get ball back close. There’s a reason you can’t watch the game on the other side of the ball. Goes without saying but you can’t throw picks.
