Millions of pensioners will lose their winter fuel payments this year after Parliament failed to block the cuts.

The Government’s plan to limit the payments to the poorest pensioners passed by 348 votes to 228, a majority of 120.

Foreign Secretary David Lammy has called climate change a more serious and widespread threat than terrorism.

In his first speech, 100 days into the role, Lammy said addressing climate change and the decline of nature would be a top priority for the Foreign Office.

Pension credit tops your money up to £218 PER
WEEK and all your bills come out of that before you think about food and fuel.
Im getting £5 more £223 per week so i don't qualify for the heating allowance.
Wow we are all so well off.

It would be much simpler if they did what Cameron suggested and only removed it from those that pay 40%tax. Easier admin and no forms to fill in.

That MP is talking rubbish. How do you know you can apply for stuff who’s gonna help you fill in the forms. Just leaving as he was.

So, as far as this individual is concerned, the only mistake Starmer has made is in the way he presented this. At the end of the day Labour are giving with one hand and taking with the other, cancelling out any increase pensioners might have got. But, of course, pensioners don't vote for Labour, do they?

If they are going to remove anything, they should do a proper means test and woe betide if you are a few pennies over Pension Credit limit.

There are people who are classed as to rich cos of a £3 over payment. This system is crazy. Why not give them a £3 pay cut instead of withdrawing potentially thousands a year in benefits

It's a disgrace get Starmer out now
