Im not even mad at them. In 2024 America, nobody is getting paid enough to live comfortably yet corporations are raking in record profits. Too much of anything is a bad thing.

13k is 10% of Disney Park's total employees. Union members made up 10% of the total US workforce at the end of 2023. 10% is all that's needed to make a difference, and the more we do that, the more people will see how important joining/creating a union is.

Way past time big corporations pay employees a fair wage for 2024! When they shut down and lose millions per day, workers will leverage.

Shut down Disneyland for 2 weeks at least. Not just a day or two.

Solidarity! Get what you need Disney workers. Good Lord above knows you won't get it any other way.

My friend worked for disney's imagineering program for a year and said it was brutal. He lived on a disney housing campus, took classes with the disney education program, and worked as a cashier in the disney park. He loved disney as a brand, but left cause it was too much for him. He felt like he wasnt allowed to exist outside of the disney-sphere. They also worked him like crazy, and because he was always technically "at-work" time off was very very rare.
IMO, it gave the same vibe as the companies in the 1800s who had company towns, had 24/7 on call hours, and paid people in company bucks instead of money. Your workplace should NOT be allowed to control that much of your life. If disney wants to help their low level employees with housing or education thats great, but just give them a scholarship or money to get their own place AWAY from disneyland.

When employees have to pressure their company for fair wages, decent conditions, and even safety measures--the Dept of Labor, OSHA and others should be taking a hard look at how the place is being run. 🤔

May these Disney workers be successful in getting what they are asking for.

Poor pay, declining benefits. Disney needs to do more for its employees who make the experience magical at its parks!

It's about time someone got on the surveillance thing. Fucking weird as hell that disney can straight up monitor your _home_ activity, and use that as leverage against your job.

Thank you for always sharing both the good news as well as the bad news on the fight for workers' rights. At least for me, it helps feeling informed without the constant sense of dread.

Instead of giving shareholders a 50 percent dividend* increase, take care of your employees.

It's pretty well known that Disney treats cast and crew like crap and is vindictive against media that doesn't show them in a positive light. Clownfish TV, who used to be Disney insiders, often do a segment "daily dose of dismal Disney". Enlightening.

They are the ones that help keep the magic. Its important to support them. Yeah times are tough bur when you work for a company planning a 2 billion dollar expansion they can afford to give the people who keep parks clean, rides running and guests happy a livable wage or at least something that doesn't require 6 roommates
