Sony's direct involvement with SE projects, games and other releases lead them to the state they are in now. We can't shift the blame as if they magically did this themselves or turned on a dime as they've had no problem releasing normal titles up until the mid ps4-ps5 era when the 'wokeness' took hold over the hobby. If there's any one root cause to point at? Its the overlords in Calif as were the only 'committee' that makes day one patches and enforces them.

This is amazing for several reasons. First, it shows us that Remake and Rebirth were the flaming failures they've always were believed to be. Second, they are liars: the only reason that the game didn't follow its original dark story, designs and more because they sold out to Sony of California. Finally third, when Japan turns its back on something they made, you know its bad.

It baffles me that companies would take exclusivity deals with Sony and cutting off massive profit sales from the PC players and xbox. Also doesnt help help that Sony has turned into a progressive shit show and want to censor everything. From sales figures from previous sony exclusives, it seems they dont have that massive pull they used to have years ago. Doesnt really surprise me with the massive growing pc player base. With how expensive games are to make now, exclusivity deals dont seem to be working anymore for developers. Better off to release on all platforms.

This will only mitigate the damage. Square Enix’s biggest problem is that they set expectations too high and over spend. Until they fix that, no amount of damage control will help much.
