Once you move abroad, you never stop moving abroad <3

I have never lived abroad but travel often and I imagine the best thing about living abroad would be gaining a new perspective about life back in the home country, both positive and negative.

Also on a superficial level, I have a better appreciation for movies and books that have scenes or settings in places I've visited. Same with ethnic cuisine/restaurants. Been there, done it.

And I believe you stated before Mark, you really do become the person who has all the great stories. I can't tell you how many times something will come up and people say "you spent some time there right?"

Great video as usual.

Excellent video! I grew up in Chicago and departed to live for 18 years in Germany, worked for German employers, learned the language, the culture, the geography, etc. Also traveled to France several times. Those years enriched my life more than anything else.

Good stuff. Very true. I moved abroad about a year ago and have had all these experiences. But I don't regret it one bit! I'm glad you mentioned "fighting the bureaucracy" because while it does suck, I feel great that I've "conquered" the German bureaucratic system which has made living here so much better.

I'm planning to relocate to Sweden from California very soon and I can speak Swedish at an intermediate level and I also befriended a lot of Swedes through Instagram. I will miss my family and friends very much but I know the experience will be worth it!

I’ve lived abroad, but that was as a child, I’m planning to live in the UK for two years when I graduate, and I feel like this video has good things to keep in mind.

I never really comment on YouTube but for anyone watching this: this is 100% accurate. This video should be required viewing for anyone moving abroad from anywhere to anywhere.

I lived in Japan and the UK in terms of abroad. I'm from Ireland so the UK wasn't so bad in that a lot of things were very similar like products, stores and things but Japan was a huge jump in terms of everything from culture and language to the healthcare system. I did end up getting sick with food poisoning a week into moving and ended up needing iv fluids in local a Japanese hospital. But after that baptism of fire I had a fantastic time there

I love these videos because I've been living in US and China also travelling to the Continent and UK. One thing I hate about moving abroad is I do feel harder to adjust to life when I move back to my home country. What I love is the experience, local places and local people. It is very different from travelling as a tourist, and it's amazing.

I'm going to use "pee pee en fuego" as my explanation for everything now. Because it'll make me laugh. Because I'm an 8 year old on the inside.
