Back in 2016 the Lord lead us to this song as we were experiencing our 2nd miscarriage. It brought great encouragement, healing & peace. We sang these words with faith & confidence in the midst of our tears & questions. Several years later we discovered the story behind the song. Wow. Thank you, Ali & Garth, for choosing to worship in the midst of your pain & for sharing this powerful truth with the world.

My husband and I tried 7 years for a child, journeyed through 2 miscarriages and are now so thankful for our little 19 month old. The background to this song story is so true and so important to remember ALL THE TIME! To be joyful is quite often a choice but when you manage to focus on Jesus, He does give you strength to endure. Fantastic song and story. Thank you and bless you Rend Collective!

Thank you so much for sharing this story. My heart is hurting very heavily tonight and I found this story it at the perfect moment when I needed some encouragement.My brother passed away not even 3 weeks ago. It was very sudden and very unexpected. My faith in Jesus is what helps me get up everyday and put one foot in front of the other and I've been listening to the "Joy of the Lord" song as a reminder that His joy is my strength and that through the darkness I can and will still dance and sing because His mercies are new everyday. Thank you! I love your music and I can't tell you how many times I've sat in my room with your music playing on my phone and just had many intimate moments with Jesus.

For some reason I don't think I had ever really thought of Nehemiah 8:10--the joy of the Lord is my strength--as something that was so true, and so real. Like, where else would my strength come from? But this song really reminds me of how true that is. I've come to notice that in the times that it is hardest to be joyful, hardest to be honest, hardest to be faithful, etc. are the times that it is the most important that we are joyful, honest, faithful, etc. Thank you for such a beautiful, biblical message and story.
