They have to maintain the whole system...remember watching movies 20 yr back ..the conditions and service of then cinema halls and todays PVRs are very different..so to give you the best experience of AC cooling, great seats, dolby sound and clean washroom they keep there price high ...but i still believe that these prices are insanely high .. a popcorn cost us 350 rs while ticket is only for rs 200.

Went to watch Rocketry movie at INOX. In interval, I went to lobby and asked the price of Paper Boat juice at the food counter. I almost got a mini heart attack when I heard that the price of those juice plackets are being sold over 100 rupees per pack while in normal shops the price of those bottles are 20 rupees or 25 rupees per pack. Then I drank a glass of water for free and went back to my seat. 🙂💔

Other source of multiplex revenue is by displaying advt during intermission and before the movie along with parking rates but most multiplex are located in swanky malls so multiplex owners have to pay rent to shopping malls...
