What is a focus stack? ⬇️

A focus stack is a common practice in photography, especially landscapes. This technique is used when you have a very large range between objects in your foreground and objects in the background.

Due to restraints of the camera, you won’t be able to get the whole scene in focus in a single shot. That’s when you should use a focus stack.

In order to create a focus stack, you’ll want to take 2+ photos, all with different focus points in the image. One photo with a focus on the foreground, and another with a focus on the background is usually sufficient, but some scenes may require multiple foreground focus point shots.

Be sure to leave your tripod in the same spot and don’t adjust camera settings between photos!
